At CTIA Wireless 2008 in Las Vegas, kajeet announced a new GPS Phone Locator service to help both kids and parents find the kajeet phone. This makes kajeet the only pre-paid operator to offer a GPS phone locator to both parents and kids. The kajeet GPS Phone Locator uses satellite technology to help find your child's phone and gives subscribing families easy-to-use information regarding the location of their kajeet phone via Web-based maps.

Parents can schedule automatic location checks at specific times of the day, so they know where their kid's kajeet phone is at any given time - whether the phone is in their child's backpack on the school bus or in their sports bag at soccer practice. Kids can also use the service to help find their phone, addressing another concern of parents and kids who want to find a misplaced kajeet phone.

"A tool like GPS Phone Locator provides and reinforces the security that parents and kids need when getting a mobile phone," said Daniel Neal, CEO and founder of kajeet.

"We're glad to expand the kajeet offering for kids and their families with this highly-desired safety feature that further supports our goal of delivering the best cell phone service for kids. With GPS Phone Locator, parents get the comfort level they need and kids get the phone features and freedom they want."

Powered by WaveMarket's location-based services, the kajeet GPS Phone Locator is the latest arrival to the portfolio of customizable features that kajeet offers. Its friendly and easy-to-use Web-based management tools allow families to personalize a service that fits their specific needs. Current management tools include:

- TimeManager: Decide when the phone can or can't be used for calls or texts.

- WalletManager: Two separate wallets allow parents and kids to decide who pays for calls and texts. Great for budgeting and creating a phone allowance, and kids can learn to be responsible for their own usage decisions.

- ContactManager: Set up the phone book of who can and can't call and text your kajeet phone (and vice versa) -- and decide whose "wallet" pays for which calls.

- FeatureManager: Customize kajeet features to fit your family's needs - simply turn features on and off when you want via the kajeet Web site.

Starting April 13, 2008, kajeet will offer GPS Phone Locator with a free three-month trial to all kajeet customers who subscribe to the service. Thereafter, the service will cost just $9.99/month per phone.
