Integral Systems Submits Proposal For Next Generation Global Positioning System
Columbia MD (SPX) Jul 30, 2009 Integral Systems, Inc has submitted a proposal to deliver an integrated, advanced command and control solution for the Global Positioning System (GPS) Next Generation Advanced Control Segment (OCX) program. Integral Systems is a member of the Northrop Grumman team competing for the open-architecture, next-generation control segment contract. GPS OCX will provide command and control operations for all GPS II and future GPS III satellites, delivering transformational new capability in mission planning and execution as well as constellation management. "Northrop Grumman built an integrated team of ground segment leaders and challenged us to revolutionize GPS operations," said John Higginbotham, Chief Executive Officer, Integral Systems. "The joint proposal outlines major enhancements in performance and efficiencies for GPS operators. This program will transform GPS command and control operations as we know them, giving operators a highly flexible command and control architecture that will support current and future missions more efficiently. "The men and women that operate GPS will continue to give warfighters global navigation superiority for decades to come. We are proud to play a prominent role in this vital national defense program." Integral Systems will provide a proven satellite command and control solution that leverages its highly successful Command and Control System-Consolidated (CCS-C) program, operational today for MILSATCOM at Schriever Air Force Base. The success of CCS-C resulted in tremendous personnel and operations efficiencies and dramatically reduced operational costs for Air Force Space Command. "Integral Systems delivered a superior solution that will truly reinvent GPS satellite command and control operations," said Dan Allen, Sector Vice President and General Manager for Northrop Grumman's Intelligence Systems Division. "Their flexible, proven command and control approach deployed at Schriever Air Force Base is a key component of the Northrop Grumman team's low-risk, high capability offering for the Air Force. The total solution will give deployed forces a highly responsive navigation advantage."
