Global Relief Technologies Names Mark Jadkowski VP GIS Research And Development
Portsmouth NH (SPX) Feb 18, 2008 Global Relief Technologies (GRT) is pleased to announce the addition of Mark A. Jadkowski, an accomplished geographic information technology professional, as its Vice President of GIS Research and Product Development. In that position, Dr. Jadkowski will oversee the development, implementation and maintenance of GRT's geographic information systems, technology that provides users with data visualization and analysis through mapping images. Dr. Jadkowski brings to GRT, a provider of mission-critical end-to-end data solutions for civil, military and government clients, cutting edge talent in software-based geographic and cartographic technologies. He will be responsible for taking the prodigious mapping and GIS capabilities of GRT's patented Rapid Data Management System (RDMS) software to a higher level. Jadkowski also will serve on the company's RDMS Product Management Committee. "We are extremely pleased to have acquired an engineering talent as senior and as seasoned as Mark Jadkowski," commented Michael Gray, GRT's CEO. "Mark will help GRT to infuse RDMS with the premiere mapping and GPS navigation capabilities in the mobile computing industry. The results are going to be stellar." "I am very happy to join GRT's expanding and increasingly successful team", Jadkowski remarked. "Working for GRT is more of a calling than a job. RDMS is a great technology and one that is poised to revolutionize field data collection and management for disaster relief, humanitarian assistance and emergency preparedness. " Dr. Jadkowski most recently served as vice president of Maptech, Inc. where he was responsible for development of new navigation products and related services for government agencies, including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Prior to joining Maptech in 1998, Jadkowski spent two years as president of Bangor, Maine-based BSB Electronics Charts LLP, the dominant electronic nautical chart CD-ROM publisher in the United States. Jadkowski holds a Ph.D in engineering and a M.S. in applied mathematics from Utah State University, and a B.S. in engineering from Humboldt State University. RDMS is a field-user driven, data-rich software tool. It allows field operators to input precisely the data they need based on their own historical data collection requirements. RDMS presents that data in real-time on a virtual network operation center (VNOC) in the way in which decision-makers would like to see the data, allowing the VNOC user to create reports, and view the data overlaid on detailed area maps or satellite imagery. The VNOC is a secure website that can be accessed at a customer's headquarters, field command centers or other locations. Armed with real-time situational awareness provided by RDMS, decision makers can mobilize resources to provide food, water, medical supplies and additional relief workers to the scene more quickly than has ever been possible.
