Columbus Geographic Systems announced that they are holding discussions with the German office of Sixt AG, a global player for car rentals, leasing, and used cars. Sixt has expressed interest in offering Ranger, Columbus' advanced off- road navigation system, in its fleet of cross-country 4x4 vehicles.

This will enhance the features and services Sixt offers their customers when renting or leasing a vehicle. This can give Sixt a further advantage in the very competitive car rental market. Sixt is now conducting trials with a full version of Ranger. Based on these trials they will determine in which vehicles to offer this navigation solution.

"We are seeing growing consumer demand for in-vehicle navigation systems in the United States and Europe. Our system, Ranger, is the leading navigation solution for the off-road environment. Until now we have held discussions with a number of leading global car and truck manufactures to include our system in their new vehicles. We are now pleased to broaden our efforts to include discussions with leading car rental companies such as Sixt," commented Columbus CEO Tsvika Freidman.
