GTX has announced the successful launch of its first application for the competitive athletics marketplace during the 112th running of the Boston Marathon. Deemed one of the world's most prestigious and oldest annual road racing events, the 2008 Boston Marathon attracted over 25,000 runners from around the world.
MyAthlete, licensee of the gpVector GPS Personal Location Service (PLS), brought GTX Corp's patent-pending, real-time GPS technology in a lightweight, easy to wear device worn by numerous runners. Real-time images of athletes equipped with the device were available at every juncture of the course by logging on to the Internet portal www.MyAthlete.biz from any laptop, PC or Web-enabled PDA.
