WaveMarket's Veriplace To Power AmberWatch Mobile Initiative
San Francisco CA (SPX) Sep 15, 2008 WaveMarket has announced that its standards-based open location and privacy platform, Veriplace, will power the cross-carrier AmberWatch Mobile initiative. The AmberWatch Mobile service is an industry-wide initiative supported by Alltel, AT and T, Sprint, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless. Users of the AmberWatch Mobile initiative on each of these carriers will have their location information protected by Veriplace. Veriplace, based on the same commercially-proven security and privacy solutions used in WaveMarket's industry leading Family Locator products already available on tens of millions of mobile phones, provides WAP, Web, SMS and Mobile application developers access to a user's location-as long as the user grants access. The platform empowers the user with tools to protect his location data regardless of the technology used to locate him, while unlocking LBS opportunities for carriers and developers. "Veriplace will protect the location information of users on the networks of all of our AmberWatch Mobile carrier partners," said Tasso Roumeliotis, WaveMarket's CEO.
