TeleNav Selects Tele Atlas For Digital Maps And Content
Lebanon NH (SPX) Nov 11, 2008 Tele Atlas and TeleNav have announced Tele Atlas maps and content will power TeleNav Shotgun, the company's first two-way, Internet-connected GPS personal navigation device (PND). Through TeleNav Connected ServiceSM, TeleNav Shotgun leverages the wireless network to provide real-time, connected features for business travelers. Designed to help users navigate with ease in unfamiliar environments, TeleNav Shotgun is preloaded with Tele Atlas maps of the United States, including Puerto Rico, and Canada. Tele Atlas will also provide content for the TeleNav Shotgun business directory, which includes millions of points of interest (POIs). "Using TeleNav Connected Service, TeleNav Shotgun users will not have to worry about downloading new maps or business listings," said Sal Dhanani, co-founder and senior director of marketing for TeleNav. "Access to up to date maps and POIs from Tele Atlas means business travelers can feel confident when they're driving in new cities."
