GTX has announced that their gpVector 2 Way GPS technology will be on display at two events, differing in purpose, but having the common goal of providing real time tracking for participants and viewers.

My Athlete, GTX Corp's first licensee to bring the gpVector platform to market, participated in the Ironman World Championship competition in Kona, HI on October 11th and deployed their MyAthlete ATS (Athlete Tracking System), used there by a select group of the professional and semi-professional athletes competing in the event.

As recently announced, American professional triathlete Desiree Ficker showcased the MyAthlete ATS and her performance in the competition was tracked in real time at the MyAthlete portal on the day of the race. Ficker was the winner of the Spec-Savers Ironman 70.3 South Africa competition earlier this year in East London and placed 2nd in the Kona competition in 2006.

And at the other side of the western hemisphere...GTX Corp is proud to announce its corporate sponsorship of the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk...being held October 18th on the National Mall in Washington, DC.

Since 1989, through the Memory Walk, the Alzheimer's Association has raised more than $230 million to help fund Alzheimer care, support and research, and is dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and an eventual cure for Alzheimer's.

GTX is committed to the development of geo-aware monitoring solutions designed to assist patients and their caregivers dealing daily with the symptoms of the disease that cause the afflicted to wander.

Andrew Carle, Assistant Professor and founding Director of the Program in Assisted Living/Senior Housing Administration at George Mason University, will be wearing the gpVector geo-aware technology during the walk, along with a team of students from the program.

Mr. Carle is internationally known for coining the term "Nana" Technology. He notes that, "Up to 60% of individuals with Alzheimer's will become lost one or more times, with high rates of death among those not found within 24 hours. Searching out solutions for older adults, I am an advocate for the use of GPS technologies to prevent incidents of critical wandering in seniors with Alzheimer's Disease and related dementia."
