Epitiro Launches ISP-I WiMAX Drive Test Solution
Cardiff, Wales (SPX) Aug 28, 2009 Epitiro has launched ISP-I WiMAX Drive Test for network operators and government regulators. The new mobile functionality links WiMAX network test results with critical GPS location information to provide an understanding of overall performance throughout geographical areas. ISP-I WiMAX Drive Test is ideal for planning mast placement and identifying "not-spots" in target areas as it provides real-time RF information, IP-based service delivery metrics such as throughput speed, FTP, HTTP, jitter, latency, loss and voice quality scores including ITU P.862.1 MOS complete with GPS test location information. Epitiro offers ISP-I WiMAX as a managed service to cover both subscriber pre-deployment testing and in-life monitoring. The managed service means operators and regulators are not burdened with capital expenditure or lost resource due to training and installation overhead. "ISP-I WiMAX Drive Test accurately determines voice and data service levels for all Operators across a designated area," said JP Curley, CTO. "As an extension of ISP-I, the de facto industry standard, the new WiMAX Drive Test solution gives operators and regulators a location-based test capability backed by a proven system for benchmarking and network management." ISP-I WiMAX Drive Test empowers operators with performance views of competitor networks including WiMAX and 3G/HSPA services enabling direct comparisons and a means of benchmarking performance in context of the overall market. Moreover, ISP-I's browser-based reporting allows users to easily see real-time test results of both their own network and their competitors. "Speed, availability and voice quality are the major determinates of customer satisfaction, and operators will only retain WiMAX customers - and profit from additional services - if they ensure subscriber satisfaction," said Curley. "We're excited to hit the road with this much needed solution." The system provides GPS-enabled end-to-end service quality measurements using operator-provided CPE with integrated support for USB and RJ45 Data connectors and ATA/RJ11-based Voice Call support. Measurements are not affected by the environment as all hardware is ruggedized, vibration resistant, EMF protected and has a wide safe operation area range (SOAR) to handle extremes in temperature.
