The acquisition will enable Apisphere to leverage Navit's extensive Global Positioning System (GPS) technology and industry experience to enhance the scope and reach of the location-aware mobility solutions it is offering its customers. Through this acquisition, Apisphere will add valuable RF engineering, embedded application development, navigation software engineering, and hardware development capabilities to its team. Navit's GPS product and hardware development expertise will enable Apisphere to expand its addressable market by providing an end-to-end solution that includes location-based services (LBS) development support for cellular handset manufacturers. "The expertise Navit brings to our team will extend Apisphere's customer reach to include manufacturers who wish to develop mobile handsets that support mobile business processes with on-demand, location-aware capabilities," said Craig Harper, CEO, Apisphere.
